  A Pet Friendly Bed and Breakfast in the Mountains of Western Maine 

Located in the serene and verdant mountains of western Maine between Rumford, Bethel and Andover, Mountain Spring Farm is a small and intimate Bed and Breakfast Inn. Our location is  excellent for those visitors wishing  to experience the  brilliant Maine Fall foliage, the wild beauty of the Maine Forests, the peacefulness of a bicycle ride down a country road to a covered bridge or those  wishing a more private retreat after skiing or enjoying various winter sports in the area.   We  are pet friendly and also welcome larger groups and teams coming for the various snow events in the area. 

Our Location  :  We are located in approximately 4.3 miles north off  Route 2 as it travels East/West between Bethel and Rumford.  Click the lily for directions.  We are a short distance to  Black Mountain of Maine, Sunday River Ski Resort area, Mount Abram Ski area, Grafton Notch State Park, the Appalachian trail and the Intertrail System (ITS82) for Snow-mobiling in Andover .  We are across the street from the main hiking trail to White Cap Mountain 

The Farmhouse :  The farmhouse was built in 1829 and has been lovingly updated without sacrificing its charm. We have two guestrooms with private baths and four rooms which share a bath, a great room with TV, DVD/VCR,  Wifi, fireplace and games.  The farm has pure mountain water which has been piped from the mountain directly into the living room and it provides us with clear, clean and continuously running ice cold  drinking water.  We make space available for Nordic Skiers to wax their skis and there is plenty of room for parking of snow mobile trailers.                                             

  Our rooms and rates: For a description of the rooms and rates, please click on the picture of the quilt-covered sleigh bed.  We accept checks and cash but no longer accept credit cards.  Institution vouchers are accepted as well.    During the busy holiday season and school vacation, we require a 2 night minimum stay.    We also offer reduced rates to teams racing at the local ski resorts.  We can accommodate teams up to ~15.  Please call us for details. We require a 7 day notice of cancellation of reservations during ski races or during holidays/school vacation.  If we can reschedule the rooms, we will refund the reservation fee.                                                           

We are pet friendly: Well behaved, friendly pets are  welcomed and thoroughly enjoyed.  The charges are $10 per night when staying in the room or $25 for the pets to stay with us during the day and evening while you are away. We have two loving chocolate labs, Belle and Beau, who like company. Doggies are allowed to roam around the house during the day.  They are also brought outside to play in the fields.  

Places to visit, things to do and people to meet:  

We are in an ideal location to allow visitors to explore in any direction a  number of interesting and diverse places, all within a easy ride from the farm. We have prepared only a partial list for the website but have many suggestions for guests who are looking to explore.  This is very abbreviated and is to be considered a work in progress.  We will be adding more in depth descriptions, directions and links to related Web pages as the site is further developed.  Nature Rags is  our place for us and local crafts-people and artists to show their hand-made items and offer them for sale.  The object of the shop is to make available for our guests and friends, locally made goods which are inexpensively priced (most under $10.00) and which reflect the Maine country and mountain living.  You will find honey from our bees for your sweet tooth and tea cup, bees wax filled with honey to chew on, maple syrup gathered from our local red and sugar maples during the early spring months, hand-made glycerin soaps wrapped to be given as gifts. Our quilted good include table runners  and wearable art clothing.
